Netflix has announced a release date for their upcoming series 13 Reasons Why with a dark teaser trailer.

Netflix’s upcoming original series, 13 Reasons Why, is based on Jay Asher‘s best-selling young adult mystery novel of the same name. The highly anticipated television series, which has Selena Gomez on board as an Executive Producer, will premiere on March 31.

The show follows Clay Jensen, a shy high-school student who receives a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers a series of cassette tapes by his classmate and crush, Hannah Baker, a girl who committed suicide only two weeks earlier. On the tapes, Hannah reveals the thirteen people who are to blame for her depression.

13 Reasons Why is Executive Produced by Oscar Award Winning Tom McCarthy (Spotlight), Brain Yorkey (Grease Live), Selena Gomez (Hotel Transylvania), Joy Gorman (Seeking a Friend for the End of the World) and Kristel Laiblin (Children of Men).

Starring Dylan Minnette (Prisoners, Don’t Breathe) and Katherine Langford (Daughter), 13 Reasons Why premiere March 31 on Netflix.
