Stephen King gave fans a bite-sized treat today when the acclaimed Author unveiled the poster for the cinematic adaptation The Dark Tower. The poster confirms that the Columbia Pictures and MRC film will premiere July 28. We hope that this means the long-awaited trailer will be right around the corner!

The poster, which we encourage you to flip, features Oscar-award winning Matthew McConaughey (Interstellar) in the role of The Man in Black, Golden Globe-winning Idris Elba (Zootopia, Prometheus) as The Gunslinger, Roland Deschain, and Tom Taylor (Doctor Foster) as Jake Chambers. The poster includes silhouetted imagery of the Dark Tower, and quotes the book series with the line “There are other worlds than these.”

The Dark Tower tells the story of Roland Deschain (Elba), Mid-World’s last gunslinger, who is travelling south-east across Mid-World’s post-apocalyptic landscape in order to find the powerful, magical and elusive, Dark Tower. The Dark Tower is the nexus point of the time-space continuum, the heart of all worlds, but it is also under threat. Someone or something is using the evil technology of the ‘Great Old Ones’ to destroy it.

Stephen King‘s universe is being brought to life by Writer and Director Nikolaj Arcel (A Royal Affair) and screenwriter Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind). In addition to the cast mentioned above, The Dark Tower stars Katheryn Winnick (Vikings), Abbey Lee (Mad Max: Fury Road), Jackie Earle Haley (A Nightmare on Elm Street), Nicholas Hamilton (It, 2017), Claudia Kim (Avengers: Age of Ultron) and Fran Kranz (The Cabin in the Woods).

The Dark Tower will premiere July 28, 2017.
