We are only a few months in, and already 2017 is proving to be a great year for horror movies. To add to the ever-growing list of this year’s horror releases, the upcoming fantasy thriller, Wish Upon, has released a second nail-biting trailer.
Victim to bullying and unrequited crushing, high school girl Claire, played by Joey King (The Conjuring, Fargo) is embarrassed by her hoarder father, played by Ryan Phillippe (I Know What You Did Last Summer).
One day her father comes home with an old music box with inscriptions promising to grant seven wishes to its owner. While she is sceptical at first, Claire can’t help but let both her own curiosity and its dark powers seduce her into using the magic box.
When Claire finally tests the supernatural relic, she is thrilled to find her life not only improves with every wish she makes but also becomes filled with everything she’s ever wanted — that is until her wishes cause the people around her start dying in violent and elaborate ways.
Broad Green Pictures’s Wish Upon is directed by John R. Leonetti (Annabelle) and produced by Sherryl Clark (Cloverfield), the film has a pretty impressive cast, starring Twin Peaks’ Sherilyn Fenn, as well as, Shannon Purser (Stranger Things), Joey King (The Conjuring, Fargo), Ryan Phillipe (Shooter), and Ki Hong Lee (The Maze Runner).
Wish Upon will hit theatres July 14. Check out the trailer below:
