If you are a live streamer you are in luck because Elgato Gaming, who are known for creating gaming capture cards, are expanding to produce The Stream Deck, a device that gives video-game streamers, Twitch users and Youtubers more control over their live content. So what does the nifty 15-key controller do? Elgato Gaming claims that the Stream Deck will allow users to produce seamless and professional live streams without the need for memorising keyboard shortcuts. The 15-LCD key block, which is said to be similar in size to two decks of cards, will allow you to switch scenes, launch media and adjust audio levels, all while interacting with your viewers.
The USB 2.0 device seems pretty simple to set up. Users can use the Stream Deck App to browse available actions and drag them to one of the 15 LCD keys. The device is said to be equipped to perform 210 actions at product launch. Supported software currently includes Elgato Game Capture, OBS, Twitch, Twitter, and Tipeeestream, with extended software support provided through regular, free updates.
The video below shows some of the functions that are included on The Stream Deck including, an easy tweet button to send followers your live stream link, as well as a function to add memes and sound effects to liven up your live stream. The Stream Deck can be used on a PC with Windows 10 (64-bit) or a Mac with macOS 10.11. The Stream Deck will be available in the US as well as Australia and New Zealand and will come with an adjustable stand and key backlight control, as well as a free download of the Stream Deck Software.
