Netflix has released the trailer for Girlboss, which tells the story of the self-made fashion entrepreneur and founder of Nasty Gal Sophia Amoruso.
“Go ahead, Underestimate me. I’ve got it all figured out,” says Britt Robertson’s character Sophia, who cons a man for an expensive jacket, finds herself being slapped by an elderly lady, and develops a grand plan for success after she looses eBay’s trust.
In 2016, Sophia Amoruso was named one of the richest self-made women in the world by Forbes magazine. Kicking off her entrepreneurial journey Amoruso went from rags to riches. Initially selling clothes on eBay, the business woman soon built a multi-million dollar fashion empire.
Girlboss is loosely based on Amoruso’s New York Times best-selling book #Girlboss. The Netflix Original will star Britt Robertson (Tomorrowland: A World Beyond), Ellie Reed (2 Broke Girls), Alphonso McAuley (Glory Road), Johnny Simmons (The Perks of Being a Wallflower) and Dean Norris (Breaking Bad).
The 13-episode series is created by and executive produced by Kay Cannon (Pitch Perfect).
Girlboss will stream globally on April 21. Watch the trailer below:
