“Even as a supporting actor he will steal the whole show.”
Spike TV has released a touching tribute to Heath Ledger in the form of a documentary titled I Am Heath Ledger.
The Oscar award-winning actor who passed away in 2008 at just 28-years of age is perhaps best known for his stand-out role in the films, The Dark Knight, Brokeback Mountain and 10 Things I Hate About You. While the actor is widely known for his time in front of the camera, the upcoming documentary I Am Heath Ledger suggests that Ledger’s main ambition was to work behind the camera.
“That’s the only way I think of him, with the camera in the hand,” says Christina Cauchi.
The documentary, which will premiere at the Tribeca Film festival in April, utilises rare home movies to provide an intimate look at Heath Ledger through the lens of his own camera. Alongside the footage, the documentary includes thought-provoking interviews from Musician Ben Harper, Director Ang Lee, Model Christina Cauchi, Actor Ben Mendelsohn, Filmmaker Matt Amato, as well as close friends and family.
I am Heath Ledger will make its red carpet debut at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 23. On May 3rd the film will make its way to select theatres around the globe.
