It Comes at Night forces you to imagine something worse than the end of the word.
In a desolate home amongst the woods two heavily armed parents and 17-year-old Travis (Kelvin Harrison, Jr.) navigate through fear, grief and paranoia, when a desperate couple and their young child come seeking refuge. The families will soon realise that, despite good intentions, fear turns men into monsters.
A24 is at it again, this time with a disturbing trailer for award-winning director Trey Edward Shults‘ upcoming psychological horror It Comes at Night. We were greeted to the first glimpse of the film with a vague, but intriguing, teaser released earlier this year. Now, A24 has finally introduced us to the two families whose paranoia has driven them to the extreme.
Starring Joel Edgerton (Warrior), Riley Keough (Mad Max: Fury Road), Christopher Abbott (Martha Marcy May Marlene), and Carmen Ejogo (Selma), It Comes at Night has decided to bypass the jump scares to give you a frightening taste of what happens when fear turns a good family bad.
The film, which premiered at a secret Overlook Film Festival screening, looks to be following in the footsteps of A24’s critically acclaimed horror titles The Witch, and Green Room, mixing striking imagery with an eerie twisted atmosphere.
If you’re looking for this year’s best horror film, It Comes at Night might just take the cake.
It Comes at Night is set to release Jun 9, 2017. Watch the trailer below:
