Agatha Christie’s 1934 mystery novel, Murder on the Orient Express is heading back to the big screen! The film is due to hit cinemas in November. In the meantime, we have been treated to some exciting new details!
Actor Josh Gad has tweeted a photo of the star-studded cast.
“Honored to be a part of this unbelievable cast & so excited for you to take this incredible ride with us this November,” he wrote.
The picture shows (from left to right): Marwan Kenzari (Ben-Hur), Lucy Boynton (The Blackcoat’s Daughter), Derek Jacobi (Grace of Monaco), Josh Gad (Beauty and the Beast), Sergei Polunin (Peter and the Wolf), Judi Dench (The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel), Daisy Ridley (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Kenneth Branagh (My Week With Marilyn), Penélope Cruz (The Counsellor), Olivia Coleman (Broadchurch), Willem Dafoe (The Fault in Our Stars) and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Magnificent Seven).
That’s not all though! A new poster has revealed that there are even more Hollywood heavyweights set to bring the murder mystery to life. Johnny Depp (Pirates of the Caribbean), Michelle Pfeiffer (Dangerous Minds), Tom Bateman (Snatched) and Leslie Odom Jr (Hamilton) will all also star.
The Murder On the Orient Express follows a luxurious sleeper train travelling from Istanbul to Paris. During a snow storm, an American tycoon is found stabbed to death in his compartment and all of the passengers become suspects. Kenneth Branagh, who is directing the adaptation is also starring as Hercule Poirot, the Belgian detective tasked with investigating the murder.
The story was previously made into a 1974 film starring Albert Finney, Sean Connery, Lauren Bacall and Ingrid Bergman. It was nominated for six Academy Awards and Bergman, who played Greta Ohlsson, won the award for Best Supporting Actress.
