The first trailer for Marvel’s new series Inhumans has dropped, and the Internet has mixed feelings. The series was once scheduled to be a film before being scrapped, and Marvel fans aren’t too happy about it. With a decrease in special effects, fans are worried that the show may not do their comic counterparts justice.
The Inhumans are a group of superhumans who have a wide range of special abilities. The trailer doesn’t show off these abilities, probably to leave us in anticipation. It seems we’ll have to wait for the show to air to see them in full.
The show stars Anson Mount (Hell on Wheels), Serinda Swan (Smallville) and Iwan Rheon (Game of Thrones) as the Royal Family. The trailer depicts them fighting about whether to stay at their home or go to Earth. Maximus (Rheon) is even willing to commit treason for that to happen. It’s clear he’s going to stir up the most trouble, as he takes up most of the trailer by himself. Black Bolt (Mount) is also featured, and he seems to be causing problems once he arrives on Earth. The trailer also includes Lockjaw, a giant bulldog who can teleport between worlds.
The trailer boasts that the show is the first to be filmed with IMAX cameras, as it will be shown in IMAX theatres before its television premiere. Since IMAX depictions of films are either hit or miss, it will be interesting to see the reaction to Inhumans on the big screen.
The trailer doesn’t reveal much else, so Marvel fans will have to wait and see whether their fears are confirmed. Watch the full trailer below.
Inhumans will debut on IMAX screens on September 1st, before its ABC premiere on September 29th.
