As we reminisce about the 90s, Rocko will be coming to terms with modern life in Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling. The first look at the return of the nostalgic Nickelodeon cartoon was showcased at San Diego Comic Con – and we are pleased to say it looks as ‘spunkyy’ as ever.
The upcoming TV movie will follow Rocko and his friends as they return to earth after more than two decades in space. As he finds his way back to O-Town, Rocko discovers that the tech-obsessed world isn’t what it used to be. While his best friends Heffer and Filburt are captivated by the new world of tech, social media, and hipster food vans, Rocko wants nothing more than to return to the safe world of the 90s.
In the 2:40-minute sneak peek, Rocko discovers his whole town has transformed. His old workplace, the comic-book shop, has been replaced with a 3D printer, 90s phones have been swapped out for a strange new contraption called the 0phone which doesn’t have buttons, and the town dwellers are now fueled by radioactive power-drinks and pizza tacos from the local food van.
Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling is expected to be released in 2018. Check out the sneak peek below:
