Netflix has released a trailer for its upcoming original series Mindhunter and it looks sinister as hell!
Directed by David Fincher (Gone Girl, Zodiac, House of Cards), Mindhunter follows two FBI agents played by Jonathan Groff (The Normal Heart, American Sniper) and Holt McCallany (Fight Club, Gangster Squad) who set out on an investigative odyssey to uncover what hides inside the mind of brutal psychopaths.
“How do we get ahead of crazy if we don’t know how crazy thinks?”
In the brooding trailer, the FBI agents interview a series of serial killers “It is not easy butchering people,” exclaims one. “It is hard work physically and mentally, I don’t think people realise, you need to vent.”
The series is based on John Douglas‘ non-fiction memoir which tells of the compelling career of a man who ushered in a new method of behavioural science and criminal profiling.
Alongside Fincher, the series is directed by Asif Kapadia (Amy, Senna), Tobias Lindholm (A War, A Hijacking) and Andrew Douglas (The Amityville Horror, U Want Me 2 Kill Him?). Fincher, Joshua Donen (Gone Girl, The Quick and the Dead), Charlize Theron (Girlboss, Hatfields & McCoys) and Cean Chaffin (Gone Girl, Fight Club) are executive producers.
October is going to be a big month for Netflix, as the streaming giant welcomes back its popular 80s sci-fi series Stranger Things, and launches its new title which has already got Fincher fans talking.
