Netflix‘s 1980s ladies wrestling comedy Glow is renewed for a 10-episode second season!
Starring Alison Brie, Marc Maron, and Betty Gilpin, the first season of Glow saw a positive response from audiences, garnering a respectable 95% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Glow is created by Liz Flahive (Homeland, Nurse Jackie) and Carly Mensch (Nurse Jackie, Orange Is The New Black, Weeds). Orange Is the New Black creator Jenji Kohan and Tara Herrmann are executive producers on the series, alongside Flahive and Mensch, who are serving as showrunners.
Set in 1985 Glow is inspired by the short lived professional women’s wrestling promotion G.L.O.W. (Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling) which began in 1986. The show is set in Los Angeles and follows Ruth Wilder (Alison Brie), a struggling out-of-work actress as she auditions for, trains and eventually, makes the first-ever women’s wrestling TV show.
