“It is not the house that is haunted”
…or is it?
Universal Pictures and Blumhouse have released a trailer for the latest film in the Insidious franchise, Insidious: The Last Key.
While many believed the third chapter in the horror franchise would be the last, Insidious isn’t ready to give up its success just yet. Much like the Conjuring, Insidious has been killing it at the box office and is determined to live on.
For quite some time, the Insidious franchise has highlighted the fact that it isn’t the house that is haunted, but the newest film seems to tell a different story. Insidious: The Last Key brings back franchise veteran Lin Shaye as Elise Rainier, and dials the horror up a notch as the brilliant parapsychologist faces her most fearsome and personal haunting yet: in her own family home.
Insidious: The Last Key is directed by franchise newcomer Adam Robitel, best known for penning the screenplay for the fifth installment in the Paranormal Activity franchise. Robitel will be joined by co-creator Leigh Whannell (Saw) who will return to pen the film and reclaim his role as Specs. Horror legend Jason Blum (The Purge series, Get Out) will once again produce the film alongside Oren Peli (Paranormal Activity) and co-creator James Wan (The Conjuring, Furious 7).
Insidious: The Last Key hits cinemas January 5, 2018. Check out the trailer below:
