“What have you done out there on the edge of Federation space?”
“I am trying to save you. I am trying to save all of you.”
A shiny new Star Trek: Discovery trailer has landed, which shows some extreme visual upgrades to the iconic franchise. Featuring a new ship, characters and missions, the trailer gives Trekkies a sneak peek at the series set a decade before Captain Kirk and Spock ventured out in the Enterprise.
The trailer opens to a scene of Captain Philippa Georgiou (Michelle Yeoh) and First Officer Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) walking along a dry desert planet. In the 2-minute video, the ship comes in contact with Klingons, shows us more of new Alien Lieutenant Saru (Doug Jones) whose skill is sensing the coming of death, and of course, gives us a look at James Frain as Spock’s father, Sarek.
In addition to a new trailer, it has been announced that the series will feature 15 episodes, up from the previously announced 13.
Star Trek: Discovery is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Alex Kurtzman’s Secret Hideout, Bryan Fuller’s Living Dead Guy Productions and Roddenberry Entertainment.
Star Trek: Discovery will air on Netflix everywhere accept U.S and Canada, where it will be available on CBS All Access.
