Netflix is bringing us back to the 80s with the return of the beloved classic The Dark Crystal, featuring some wonderful and wacky state-of-the-art creatures from Jim Henson‘s creature shop, and the original feature’s conceptual designer Brian Froud.
The trailer, which was released today by Netflix, brings fans back to the wonder of Jim Henson‘s 1982 film, featuring colourful concept art, as well as the construction of some highly detailed creatures.
“It was the most work, It was the most difficult, but it was the most fun and it was the most rewarding,” says Henson. “and of all projects, it is the one I am the most proud of.”
The fantasy adventure The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance will be a prequel to the groundbreaking original film The Dark Crystal, and will take place many years before the events of the first film. The series will be 10-episodes in length and will be shot in in the U.K.
While Netflix has revealed little information about the upcoming series, fans are already getting excited about the return of their childhood fave. Stay tuned for more information as it comes!
